what's Cacao?
and what's Ceremonial cacao...?
Cacao is the fruit which chocolate (the candy type) is made from. It's very processed and does not behold many of the nutrients that cacao is rich of.
Ceremonial cacao is a high-quality, minimally processed form of cacao traditionally used in spiritual and ritualistic practices, particularly in Mesoamerican cultures. Unlike regular cacao, which is often processed with additives like sugar and milk, ceremonial cacao is made from heirloom varieties of cacao beans and is usually stone-ground to retain its natural nutrients, flavors, and energetic properties.
As you can guess....
A cacao ceremony is a spiritual ritual where participants consume ceremonial-grade cacao to facilitate meditation, emotional healing, and spiritual connection. Rooted in ancient Mesoamerican traditions, the ceremony typically involves setting intentions, drinking cacao prepared in a pure, minimally processed form, and engaging in mindfulness practices like meditation or sharing circles. The cacao is believed to open the heart, enhance emotional clarity, and foster a deep sense of community and connection among participants. These ceremonies are often used for personal growth and communal bonding
